It is with heavy hearts that we remember David D. Price, who passed away on January 18, 2020, at the age of 54. Born in California on October 17, 1965, David was a beloved son, brother, and friend. His warmth, humor, and willingness to help others left an unforgettable mark on everyone he met. David dedicated his career to public service, working at the City of Orange Public Library and for many years with the County of Orange Public Libraries. A skilled librarian and a lifelong advocate for knowledge and community, David used his expertise and kindness to enrich the lives of countless patrons and colleagues. His love for learning and his dedication to his work will be deeply missed by all who knew him professionally.
David was also a talented musician. From a young age, he delighted in playing the piano, and he added the tuba to his repertoire during junior high and high school. He had working knowledge of many other instruments too. A proud graduate of Mission Viejo High School’s Class of 1984, David went on to study at Saddleback Community College and Long Beach State University, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Journalism and a Master's degree in Library Science. His academic journey reflected his passion for literature, knowledge, and service.
Additionally, David also earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Known for his love of games and laughter, David was always ready to lend a hand, share a joke, or spend time with those close to him. He enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, and video games, and he found joy in photographing all kinds of planes. His passion for capturing unique aircraft took him on adventures near and far, camera in hand. David also had an eye for the stars, and enjoyed tinkering with astrophotography.
David was predeceased by his father. He is survived by his mother, Karen Price, and his brother, Jeff Price, who together with his friends and extended family will hold his memory close. David, you left us far too soon, but you will forever remain in our hearts. Thank you for the kindness, joy, and laughter you brought into our lives. You are greatly missed.
